Ustaad Abdelrahman
I am a graduate of Al-Azhar University and currently reside in Cairo, where I serve as an imam leading the daily prayers at a local mosque. I completed the memorisation of the Qur’an at the age of 13, by the permission of Allah, and have remained dedicated to its study, recitation, and teaching ever since.
Through my academic studies at Al-Azhar and my practical experience as an imam, I have developed a strong foundation in Qur’anic sciences and recitation. Teaching the Qur’an allows me to support students in strengthening their connection with the Book of Allah while improving their accuracy, understanding, and consistency in recitation and memorisation.
I am passionate about guiding students with clarity, patience, and structure, and I strive to create a learning environment that encourages steady progress and sincerity in seeking knowledge.
My Mission
I chose to teach at Idris Academy because I value being part of a supportive learning community that is centred around the service of the Qur’an. It is an opportunity for me to contribute meaningfully while helping students grow in their relationship with the Book of Allah.
I assess each student’s level in advance and create a personalised learning plan based on their abilities and goals. Progress is monitored through regular assessment and reassessment. When teaching children, I use interactive methods such as activities, visual presentations, and colour-based learning tools to keep lessons engaging.
Interests Beyond Teaching
Outside of teaching the Qur’an, I enjoy playing football, reading Islamic books, and learning about medicine.
I have a strong interest in reading about human psychology and understanding how people think and behave.
